lyrics
I dreamt of a time far in the future, where no one who walked on two feet ruled anymore
It was quiet and peaceful, the air was clean
There was no war and no machines
One hundred corporations are responsible for three quarters of the world's pollution. So why are you still shoving reusable straws down my throat?
If things don't change the Earth will be unlivable in the next two decades.
I just hope we leave a chance for whoever takes our place
Gut the shopping malls, and empty the banks
Let the weeds take them back --- greenhouses for a new age
Hail the cockroach, the waterbear reigns
A new apex predator, small and benevolent
I want to rip down all the metal spikes in the trees and man-made columns crumbling
So the birds can reclaim their nesting place
And the homeless will at least be able to sleep
And the lamb lays with the wolf
No one goes extinct or without food
And our own bones are used for fossil fuels
Maybe one day we all will be erased
I think then the Earth might be a better place
Stoned doom sludge. And so very heavy but also heavy in ways that transcend genre. Take 12ish minutes & check the layered "Riverbed/The One You Feed" to begin to get the power of Sunrot. While the spectre of Neurosis may hang over the album somewhat, I could not think of a better musical touchpoint to echo as they twist these songs into their own harrowing first person journeys of the inner-self."Sunnata" is directly honest music that I have not gotten tired of hearing, even after several years. bcb723
Chicago hardcore outfit Buggin make their Flatspot Records debut with a two-track EP, featuring a cover of Beastie Boys' "Gratitude." Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 10, 2021
More punishing hardcore from one of Chicago's strongest groups, stuffed full of maniacal vocals and hair-raising riffs for maximum impact. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 16, 2020
I have no problem with long songs but they can be a problem when the song doesn’t progress or gets repetitive, happy to say this song doesn’t fall into this complaint. Although I’m not a really big metal head, i do appreciate a good metal album. I love the solos and those dive bombs are amazing. Stopped listening to metal for a while because everything seems to gets muddled and sounded the same, this song has brought me back and excited to keep on the look out for more. vikhart_lizard
